First of all, I don’t even feel comfortable calling this a “beauty” trend because it literally makes me avert my eyes and dry heave. Let’s just call it a WTFF (what the f*cking f*ck) trend. It deserves the extra F.
So this WTFF trend popular amongst
crazy folk hipsters in Japan involves getting a saline injection in the forehead (yes, that means needles) to create a big bubble, then pressing a thumb down into that bubble to create a bagel-like ring. (Click on the baked good below to be directed to images and video–I don’t want to put any weak stomachs at risk.)
Okay, so this WTFF procedure is not permanent–the effect only lasts a day, but keep in mind it takes TWO HOURS to do and the bagel headers feel the liquid dripping into their skulls the entire time. I can’t even…
Is this what self-expression is coming to? I mean, genital piercings, face tattoos, girls shaving the sides of their heads, fang teeth, and Crocs are one thing, but injecting saline into your head for two hours so you can look like an alien is quite another. You guys, they are putting needles in their heads and they’re NOT EVEN GETTING BOTOX. On top on that, they’re stretching their foreheads, thus actually creating saggy skin in the long run. It’s
sheer schmear insanity!
And I’m never going to be able to eat a bagel again.
*Thank you to my beauty guru bud Emily Foley for bringing this to my attention.
