October: What…a month. Not only is it HALLOWEEN, the best day known to man (and girls who like dressing like slutty kittens/nurses/cops), but it’s breast cancer awareness (which means pink everywhere!), AND national pizza month. I mean…I’m just glad my birthday isn’t in October or it would get totally overshadowed by these tremendous events (no offense, October babies).
For my CBS Better Mornings segment yesterday, I featured some hot, pink items, and for you hungry Atlantans, a pizza you need to stuff your face with this month. (I also wore a straight up T-shirt on air, which I would only do for charity).
A quick recap:
1. Stella & Dot’s gorgeous rose gold Hope bracelet ($32) and Luna Wrap bracelet ($118, also can double as a necklace), super-soft, celeb-approved scarf ($59), and must-have pink wallet/clutch ($79). These items are only avail thru the month and 100 percent (yes, every last cent) is going to the Noreen Fraser Foundation for breast cancer research. Click HERE or the image below to shop from my fave S&D stylist, Christine.
2. Flywheel Sports‘ cute and comfy, limited edition Pink Karma tee ($52) with more than 50 percent of proceeds going to the Bright Pink foundation, which focuses on the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. They’re available at all Flywheel locations, AND if you take a Flybarre class this month, you’ll notice the hot pink resistance bands, which makes the workout more fun (I swear).
(PS, that’s not me posing pretty on the streets of NY; it’s Flybarre instructor Kara Liotta.)
3. When the moon hits your eye, visit Max’s Pizza in the Luckie-Marietta District of downtown Atlanta and stuff your face with the Witty + Pretty pizza pie–goat cheese, grilled chicken, spinach, tomato, and roasted red onion. It’s so good you’ll want to slap your mama. (But don’t. Slap your boyfriend instead.) The best part (besides the goat cheese): A portion of proceeds is going to Kate’s Club, a local nonprofit that helps and empowers children and teens who have lost a parent or sibling. I will be there on Wednesday, October 17 with Kate Atwood of Kate’s Club and some other cool, cheese-loving peeps. Buy a W+P pie and I’ll buy you a beer. Or just come see how much I can eat.
