Well, I think I’m pregnant from listening to the new Justin Timberlake album.
If you thought he brought sexy back in 2006, he’s redefining makeout/babymaking music with The 20/20 Experience. You can stream the 70 minutes of smooth crooning for free on iTunes; I’m especially digging “Pusher Lover Girl,” “Don’t Hold the Wall,” “Tunnel Vision,” “Spaceship Coupe,” and the super-sexy, old-school-esque “That Girl,” but every song is a winner. Honestly, “Suit & Tie” is probably my least favorite song on the record … but I do love this:
As for the other album you need to get your ears on ASAP, it’s Emeli Sande‘s Our Version of Events. I don’t remember the last time I was this obsessed with an artist/album. Seriously. You may have heard the single “Next to Me,” which is killer, but TRUST that the entire album is absolutely incredible. If I were to compare the British badass to anyone, it would be Beyonce, but there’s a different kind of depth to Emeli’s music. “Wonder” is an uplifting anthem, while “Where I Sleep” and “Breaking the Law” will make you want to be in love. “Daddy” has an edgy, warning flavor to it and “My Kind of Love” is a true power ballad. Ms. Sande is already huge in Europe and she’s coming this way, so watch out, Queen Bey.
Here’s my Spotify playlist with Our Version of Events and some other random tracks she sings on (use the tiny arrows by the playstream to skip tracks), but you can also listen for free on Grooveshark, or of course, buy her album on iTunes.
Now, on a serious note….who wants to adopt my lyrical lovechild?
