And so it begins! The Witty + Pretty 1-year anniversary weeklong giveaway extravaganza!

But more importantly: It’s Earth Day. The ONE day you have of the entire year to SAVE THE PLANET. Did you recycle your Starbucks cup this morning? Extra points if you walked in with your own mug and asked them to fill it up so you wouldn’t waste a cup. There ain’t no shame in your Earth-saving game.

In honor of the holiday, I’m giving away three packages of some of my favorite natural/organic beauty products that all use ingredients from nature instead of ones that can damage it (and our bodies).

earth day giveaway

1. Sally B’s Skin Yummies:
This line is non-toxic (of course), paraben-free, and uses Earth-friendly ingredients to nourish and beautify skin. The package includes a delicious-smelling (but not overpowering) organic bar soapย ($5; I have the lemongrass in my shower right now), Carrot Facial Dream Creamย ($36) to calm your skin and make it silky smooth, and a B Glossy lip glossย ($18), which I love for its shine and subtle color, moisturizing power, and cool tingle.

2. HollyBeth Organics: These primo products need no introduction (because I already blogged about them HERE), but know that they are top-notch in all-natural luxury skincare. The giveaway package includes the magical Orange Peppermint Shea Butter Cream ($25) that will transform your hands, Geranium Jasmine Lavender Body Lotion ($37) to have you smelling like a flirty flower, and the Rose Geranium Toner ($12.50), a face-freshening, travel MUST-have.

3. Dirty Beauty: Don’t get it twisted–despite the edgy name, these products will clean you up the natural way with ingredients from the ground (and they’re fair trade certified so you’re supporting local farmers). Make your skin glow and/or prep for a spray tan with the Sugar Body Polish ($24), then give your face the same treatment with the clarifying, gently exfoliating Oatmeal Papaya Face Wash ($22).

After living 12 years with a car in the US I moved to Ecuador and I have decided not to buy a car to avoid more pollution and traffic jams, there are plenty of taxis and buses in Quito or I ride with friends, on top of that I don’t have monthly payments or car insurance to pay every month ๐Ÿ™‚ it’s a change but it feels good. I also bring my own bags to the supermarket and most of the time I refuse to take the plastic bags in the stores. I also try using natural sustainable products.

  9. becky says:

    The Pumpkin Spot

  10. Erica says:

  11. Hilary Quirk says:

I recycle everything and find a good home for everything I possibly can to keep items out of our landfills. I’ve also been trying to shift away from the chemical laden products out there that eventually find their way down my shower…everybody lives down stream and if we don’t take care of our bodies then we will ultimately be someone else’s problem even if it’s just the other folks whose insurance premiums go up to take care of my sickly butt.

  12. Vicki says:

I try to bring my own cup to the coffee shop, my own bags to the grocery store, and bike to festivals when possible (saves on time needed to look for a parking spot too…win win!)

  14. Victoria Jones says:

I always use my own coffee cup at work, since most days require 3 cups to make it through, and I try to bring my own bags with me when I go shopping. The bags are much cuter and Target gives a discount if you BYOBags, and who doesn’t love that!

  15. S. Sue says:

I print double sided and then recycle, walk to work, and most odd of all, when leaving work I turn off the lights in empty offices. I’m that girl.

    Happy Earth Day!

I will save the planet by having ALL of my friends share ONE uber everytime.we.go.out.

For New Years I gave up using plastic bags… the first few weeks were a struggle. I had to carry alot of stuff in my arms from the store to the car or awkwardly give back a plastic bag to a store (where I’m sure they just threw it away anyway) but now i alway carry around a reusable tote and havent used a single plastic bag in over 4 months! LYLAS

  25. Lauren Janis says:

How do we help the Earth everyday…Let us count the ways: recycle, bringing our own grocery bags when shopping, we stopped used plastic bottles for our water…we use mason jars only now with our filtered water….ride our bikes as much as possible/walk or carpool!!! We also try to upcycle items that we have and do clothing swaps!!

Recycling. Recycling is definitely my obsession. I can’t throw anything away that could be saved to recycle. Even at work I’ll save my plastic bottles to bring home and be recycled just so I won’t have to toss them. Like the song I sang in the second grade play says – Everyday is Earth Day.

i recycle and use re useable water bottles!

  37. Lorraine V. says:

Here in San Francisco, it is easy being green. We have curbside recycling and compost pick up so there is no excuse not to. and we were one of the first cities to ban plastic bags. I use reusable bags since there is a ten cent per bag penalty when we don’t! I also choose greener cleaning alternatives like vinegar and baking soda, steam cleaning, natural products etc.
