Another holiday weekend is upon us, which as we know, can bring out the douchebag in anyone on social media (remember?). But Labor Day is a different animal because FOOTBALL is involved, and people aren’t as hot to set off on beach vacays with their “toes in the water, ass in the sand” as they were on Memorial Day weekend. Let’s take a look at the five most annoying Labor Day social media posters.
1. The College Football FREAK.
This person has been counting down the dayshoursminutes seconds until his favorite team hits the field for the first time this season. We’re all well aware he has tickets to the game (he Instagrammed them like, six weeks ago), he’s been giving daily updates with stupid stats, and you can be sure he will be decked out in full team garb and acting like a total idiot come game day. And then you’re in for a real treat when he posts an overly enthusiastic (ALL CAPS) play-by-play of the entire game (and events leading up to it).
2. The Anti-Football Freak.
This is a hipster, super-feminist, or the dude who still hasn’t recovered from getting cut from the JV football team freshman year and they are NOT happy about their FB and Twitter feeds being inundated with SPORTS talk all damn weekend. Choice posts include:
Extra points for these Bitter Bobs (or Betties) if they use gifs in their ranting.
3. The Person Who Hates Labor.
This class act also likes getting wasted, #hashtags, and saying LOL.
4. The #Blessed Jetsetter.
…who also had a #blessed summer and want to remind you just how #blessed they truly are.
5. The Overzealous Griller.
This Guy Fieri wannabe may not have a lot of friends, so he overcompensates by BBQ’ing for everyone and not expecting any contribution. He’ll invite everyone and anyone he knows, even in a public forum. When the party starts, he’ll man the grill the whole time (don’t even try to step in), make enough food to feed an army, and expect you to stay and hang out all night. But like, you probably have somewhere better to be.
6. The Person Who Doesn’t Have Shit Going On.
Does this lost soul even realize it’s a holiday weekend? I mean, I’m all about laying low, but come on—it’s the last official weekend of summer and a 3-dayer! Do something with yourself, for Christ’s sake!
Maybe they should hang out with the #GrillMaster.
Here’s to a great Labor Day weekend everyone! I AM heading to Clemson to watch the Tigers take on UGA and I know it will be a solid game, so Dawg fans, don’t take offense to my previous post. You know you have obnoxious fans like that (as do we).
